A meeting of the Village of Riverlea Planning Commission was held January 14, 2019 at the Evening Street Elementary School.  Members present were Janet Brown, Robert Davis, Taylor Surface, and Paul Unrue. Surface served as acting Planning Commissioner. Also present were Karyn and Jay Prater. Joshua C. Mehling served as Clerk.  The acting Planning Commissioner called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. 

  1. The minutes of the regular Planning Commission meeting of December 11, 2018 were not read since each member had received a copy. Brown moved and Unrue seconded the motion that the minutes be approved as submitted by the Clerk. The following vote was recorded on the motion: Yea: 4, Brown, Davis, Surface, and Unrue; Nay: None; Abstain: 0. The motion carried 4-0.
  2. An application for a Certificate of Appropriateness by Karyn and Jay Prater at 272 Melbourne Pl to remove a current bathroom window and replace it with two smaller windows as part of a remodel. This remodel will change an existing 1 ½ bathrooms to 2. The current window will need to be removed as it will be in the way of a new wall. Davis questioned whether the outside would be finished to match the existing stucco and Ms. Prater confirmed that it would.

    <Brown moved to approve the Certificate of Appropriateness for this project as shown in the plans and Unrue seconded this motion. The following vote was recorded on the motion: Yea: 4, Brown, Davis, Surface, and Unrue; Nay: None; Abstain: None. The motion carried 4-0.
  3. Surface mentioned that he will be unable to attend any Planning Commission meetings from September 2019 through the end of the year.

Davis moved and Brown seconded a motion to adjourn. The motion was approved unanimously

(4-0). The meeting was adjourned at 7:06 p.m.
