A meeting of the Village of Riverlea Planning Commission was held April 8, 2019 at the Evening Street Elementary School.  Members present were Bryce Jacob (Planning Commissioner), Sheila Bagley, Robert Davis, and Taylor Surface. Also present were Tracy Coe and Jason Bornhorst & Taylor Ett from Peabody Landscape Group. Joshua C. Mehling served as Clerk.  The Planning Commissioner called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

  1. The minutes of the regular Planning Commission meeting of February 11, 2019 were not read since each member had received a copy. Davis moved and Surface seconded the motion that the minutes be approved as submitted by the Clerk. The following vote was recorded on the motion: Yea: 4, Bagley, Davis, Jacob, and Surface; Nay: None; Abstain: None. The motion carried 4-0.

  1. An application for a Certificate of Appropriateness by Tracy Coe at 5786 Carrington Ct to install a new stone patio, retaining wall, lawn steps, concrete pad for a spa, and a metal & wood pergola. There is currently a concrete slab in the space where the new patio is to be installed. The homeowner is installing a retaining wall due to the slope of the lawn. The stone to be used for this project is thermal Bluestone and the walls will be 2-3” Wisconsin stone with no mortar shown in the front. The pergola will be constructed of rough sawn cedar. The new patio will be no closer to the property line than the current one and the lot coverage will be 36.7%, so this is not an issue.

Davis moved to approve the Certificate of Appropriateness for this project as shown in the plans and Surface seconded this motion. The following vote was recorded on the motion: Yea: 4, Bagley, Davis, Surface, and Unrue; Nay: None; Abstain: None. The motion carried 4-0.

Surface moved and Bagley seconded a motion to adjourn. The motion was approved unanimously

(4-0). The meeting was adjourned at 7:06 p.m.
