A meeting of the Village of Riverlea Planning Commission was held March 14, 2022 at Thomas Worthington High School. Members present were Janet Brown, Paul Collini, Rich Skowronski, and Jennifer Zipfel. Collini served as acting Planning Commissioner. Also present was Scott Flores. Joshua C. Mehling served as Clerk. The acting Planning Commissioner called the meeting to order at 7:01 p.m.

  1. The minutes of the regular Planning Commission meeting of February 14, 2022 were not read since each member had received a copy. Collini moved and Brown seconded the motion that the minutes be approved as submitted by the Clerk. The following vote was recorded on the motion: Yea: 4, Brown, Collini, Skowronski, and Zipfel; Nay: None; Abstain: None. The motion carried 4-0.
  2. A modification to the application for a Certificate of Appropriateness by Scott Flores at 5840 Westchester Ct to replace the stone cladding on the front of the house with siding to match the existing siding on the sides of the house. Due to poor stonework at installation, there has been water infiltration in the basement that requires stones to be removed and it will be difficult to match the existing mortar and stones. The plan is to use hardy board in the same color and material as existing for the siding and a shaker look at the top. In addition, windows on the front and sides will be replaced with the same look and style. The door will be replaced and this is expected to be a similar look and style as well.

Brown moved to approve the Certificate of Appropriateness for the project as shown in the plans including the replacement of windows and doors and Collini seconded this motion. The following vote was recorded on the motion: Yea: 4, Brown, Collini, Skowronski, and Zipfel; Nay: None; Abstain: None. The motion carried 4-0.

Collini moved and Brown seconded a motion to adjourn. The motion was approved unanimously (4-0). The meeting was adjourned at 7:11 p.m.
