A meeting of the Village of Riverlea Planning Commission was held May 13, 2019 at the Evening Street Elementary School.  Members present were Bryce Jacob (Planning Commissioner), Sheila Bagley, Janet Brown, Robert Davis, and Taylor Surface. Also present were Michael Bendokaitis, Patricia Smith, and Steve Proctor. Joshua C. Mehling served as Clerk.  The Planning Commissioner called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

  1. The minutes of the regular Planning Commission meeting of April 8, 2019 were not read since each member had received a copy. Davis moved and Surface seconded the motion that the minutes be approved as submitted by the Clerk. The following vote was recorded on the motion: Yea: 4, Bagley, Davis, Jacob, and Surface; Nay: None; Abstain: 1, Brown. The motion carried 4-0-1.
  2. An application for a Certificate of Appropriateness by Michael Bendokaitis at 5830 Pioneers Ct to install fencing at the sides of the yard in the rear of the house. The yard is currently fenced on the north and east sides, this additional fencing will enclose the yard. The new fencing will be aluminum chain link fence to match the existing fencing around the yard. Neighbor Steve Proctor asked where the new fencing would be in relation to the driveway and Bendokaitis replied that it would run along the side of the driveway until about 5 ft before the end.

Davis moved to approve the Certificate of Appropriateness for this project as shown in the plans and Bagley seconded this motion. The following vote was recorded on the motion: Yea: 5, Bagley, Brown, Davis, Surface, and Unrue; Nay: None; Abstain: None. The motion carried 5-0.

  1. The Planning Commissioner reminded the Commission that Surface would be leaving In September and that they would need to replace this position. He asked members to contact him if they had ideas. Davis stated that he planned on submitting his resignation in September as well, which would leave another vacant position.

 

Davis moved and Brown seconded a motion to adjourn. The motion was approved unanimously

(5-0). The meeting was adjourned at 7:09 p.m.
