Infrastructure Committee Meeting

May 3, 2012

The Riverlea Infrastructure Council met on May 3, 2012 at 162 W. Riverglen Drive. In attendance were the following committee members: Council members Briggs W. Hamor (chairperson), Eric A. MacGilvray, Jenny Jones, Pamela Colwell (Clerk-Treasurer), and volunteers Jacalyn Slemmer, Marc Benevento, and Chris Bedell. Bill Charles, Street Commissioner was not present. At 7:30 pm the meeting was called to order.

The minutes from the previous meeting on April 12th were not read because all members had received a copy. They were unanimously approved.

Briggs briefly touched on the meeting he had with Matt Greeson, Worthington City Manager, to gain more information on purchasing bonds. Briggs will email attendees a summary of his discussion.

Benevento and Bedell discussed their findings on what types of loans are available. Benevento also touched on the option to get a line of credit. Benevento, Briggs, and Bedell have a meeting with Robert Patrella, President of Guernsey Bank, on May 7 at 8:00 am to discuss further loan and bond options.

Colwell presented the budget situation for the village along with a five year projection. This was beneficial in showing what areas of the budget will potentially increase over the next couple of years and where we can possibly reduce our costs. The suggestion of implementing an income tax and/or raising property taxes was discussed.

Jones addressed the projections of what the village’s expenditures could be for the next couple of years.

The committee agreed that Bill Charles will need to provide guidance on what infrastructure pieces need to be completed first.

The next meeting will be held at 7:30 pm on June 7th at 162 W. Riverglen Drive.

The meeting was adjourned at 9:00 pm.
